Recently, Prof. Rao Yunjiang, Director of the Key Laboratory of Optical Fiber Sensing and Communications of Ministry of Education in the School of Information and Communication Engineering, led a team to participate in the 29th International Conference on Optical Fiber Sensors (OFS29) held in Porto, a historic city in Portugal. At this conference, the optical fiber sensing team from UESTC sent a total of 18 participants, making it the largest group globally. The team delivered 1 keynote speech (out of 15 in total at the conference), presented 4 oral presentation papers (out of 40 in total), showcased 15 poster papers, and won an award for the best student paper (one of only 4 awarded). The number of selected papers topped the list once again after Japan's OFS28, maintaining UESTC's leading position in the field of optical fiber sensing internationally.
