On September 19 (local time), Stanford University and the internationally renowned academic publisher Elsevier jointly released the 2025 World's Top 2% Scientists List. The list is divided into two categories: Career-long Impact and Single-year Impact. These rankings were compiled from nearly 7 million scientists worldwide, based on comprehensive parameters such as the number of citations of their papers, h-index, modified hm-index considering co-authors, and citations of articles where they were the sole or first author. Scientists are selected for the top 2% in the world across 22 major fields and 174 subfields. The "Career-long Impact" list reflects scientists' overall career performance, while the "Single-year Impact" list focuses on their academic impact from the previous year. According to the list, 21 scholars from the School of Information and Communication Engineering have been included in the "Career-long Impact" rankings, while 44 scholars in the "Single-year Impact" rankings.
