The First Scientific Innovation Training Camp for International Students Held by School of Information and Communication Engineering (SICE)has been launched. This scientific innovation training camp aims to further improve the electronic design level of international students, create a strong cultural atmosphere of academic innovation on campus, enhance the academic interest and practical ability in scientific research for international students, improve the cultivation quality of international students, and provide talents for the the Belt and Road initiative. Furthermore, SICE will carry out multi-stage technical training for participating teams.
I. Matters Related to Scientific Innovation Training Camp for International Students:
1. Objects:All international undergraduates and graduate students on campus
2. Form of Participation:Forming teams (no more than 3 members in each team; each student can participate in one team only)
3. Registration Time:May 5, 2022 -- May 13, 2022
4. Registration Process:
The participating students shall fill in the registration information at KB306B in the form of a team and pay a participation deposit of 100 RMB / person (which will be returned after the activity).
This activity is limited to 6 teams. SICE will determine the participating teams according to the registration time, which means that first come first serve.
5. Form of Training
(1) The participating teams shall participate in the experimental training according to the requirements of the instructor. In principle, the training time per week shall not be less than 4 hours.
(2) The participating teams shall design and realize the training works according to the topic requirements, and produce the demonstration objects in line with the design scheme.
(3) In the link of school review, each team will share the production ideas and gains, and display the training works.
6. Topic Information (each topic can be selected for no more than 3 teams)
Topic 1:
1. Task: Neural Network Implement based on FPGA (for example: handwriting number recognization)
2. Hardware Platform: Xilinx FPGA
3. Software Platform: Python or Matlab or C
4. Requirements:
(1) Training the neural network
(2) Implement the CNN hardware accelerator
(3) Complete the whole system with camera
Topic 2:
1. Task: The“fingerprint”lock based on raspberry pie
2. Hardware Platform: Raspberry Pie
3. Software Platform: Python or C or Java
4. Requirements:
(1) “Fingerprint”is a broad meaning of Identification,can be loops and whorls on a finger or face recognition.
(2) Design management programs that run on phones or computers to realize fingerprint management.
(3) Additional functions.
