The first-level discipline of "Information and Communication Engineering" was rated as A+ in the fourth round of national discipline assessmentin2017.

The discipline of "Information and Communication Engineering" was among the first to be granted the right to confer doctoral degrees and establish post-doctoral mobile stations in the country. It was also one of the first disciplines to be included in the "211 Project" and the "985 Project" for key construction. In 2002, two secondary disciplines, "Communication and Information Systems" and "Signal and Information Processing," were both rated as national key disciplines. In 2007, the discipline of "Information and Communication Engineering" was recognized as a national first-level key discipline, with comprehensive advantages in communication, radar, electronic countermeasures, and other fields.

In the construction of the discipline,SICEadheres to the strategy of focusing on faculty construction, actively carrying out internal training and external recruitment, and has achieved remarkable results. A high-level faculty team has been basically formed, with the leading figures being academicians of the Chinese Academy of Engineering and experts recognized by the Organization Department of the CPC Central Committee. This faculty team possesses strong innovative ability, competitive strength, vitality, and spirit of innovation. The discipline of "Information and Communication Engineering" has a strong faculty team led by Professor LeminLi, an academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering. There are 26 national outstanding talents. In recent years, young academic backbones have grown rapidly, achieving significant results in teaching and research. Overall, the discipline team ofSICEis stable, with reasonable age and knowledge structure.
