【Information and Communication Engineering (First-level Discipline)】
【Discipline Code: 081000】
The first-level discipline of Information and Communication Engineering is a national key discipline. It was among the first to be granted the right to confer doctoral degrees and to establish post-doctoral mobile stations in the country. Additionally, it was among the first disciplines included in the "211 Project" and the "985 Project" for key construction. In 2002, two secondary disciplines were both rated as national key disciplines, and in 2007, it was recognized as a national key discipline at the first level. Currently, this first-level discipline has 26 national outstanding talents and has formed high-level academic research teams with significant influence both domestically and internationally. It has national key laboratories, key laboratories of the Ministry of Education, and a large number of internationally advanced experimental instruments and equipment.
This discipline is closely related to research fields in disciplines such as Electronic Science and Technology, Computer Science and Technology, Control Science and Engineering, and Instrument Science and Technology.
【Communication and Information Systems (Second-level Discipline)】
【Discipline Code: 081001】
Communication and Information Systems belong to the first-level discipline of Information and Communication Engineering. This discipline is a national key discipline, and it was approved as a doctoral program in 1986. It was also among the first disciplines included in the "211 Project" for key construction. The discipline has a comprehensive and well-structured academic team composed of high-level talents, including academicians of the Chinese Academy of Engineering and national teaching masters. It possesses research and talent cultivation platforms consisting of national key laboratories, several provincial and ministerial-level key laboratories, and a number of laboratories designated under the "985 Project" and the "211 Project" for key construction. It has comprehensive advantages in interdisciplinary research and mutual support in the field of electronic information, leading in multiple related areas domestically and serving as one of the important bases for research in communication and information systems in China.
The research scope of the discipline includes mobile communication, multimedia communication, optical fiber communication, communication network technology, special integrated circuit design and research, etc., closely related to research fields in disciplines such as Electronic Science and Technology, Computer Science and Technology, Control Science and Engineering, and Instrument Science and Technology.
【Signal and Information Processing (Second-level Discipline)】
【Discipline Code: 081002】
The discipline of Signal and Information Processing belongs to the engineering category and is a second-level discipline under the first-level discipline of Information and Communication Engineering. It is a national key discipline with the authority to confer doctoral and master's degrees. Signal and Information Processing primarily focus on the processing of signals and information, including acquisition, transformation, storage, transmission, exchange, and application of signals and information in various stages. It is an essential component of information science, and its main theories and methods have been widely applied in various fields of the national economy and defense. Overall, this discipline is at the forefront domestically in its field, with some research directions approaching or reaching international advanced levels. With support from the "211 Project" and the "985 Project," the teaching and research conditions of the Signal and Information Processing discipline have continuously improved, and it now has advanced equipment and experimental conditions.
The discipline of Signal and Information Processing is closely related to research fields in disciplines such as Electronic Science and Technology, Computer Science and Technology, Control Science and Engineering, and Instrument Science and Technology.
