王子南教授做客信通论坛

2020年11月23日,电子科技大学光纤传感与器件团队王子南教授应邀做客 “信通论坛”,为广大师生带来“Simplified power-balance model for Raman random fiber laser in engineering applications”的学术报告,本次讲座由格拉斯哥学院赵国栋副教授主持,480余名师生参与此次学术分享活动。

在本次学术分享中,王子南教授对拉曼随机光纤激光器(RRFL)的功率相关特性进行了讲解,并针对半开腔RRFL的功率特性,与大家分享了课题组提出的一种快速收敛的功率平衡模型。该种模型突出了最常见RRFL类型的物理本质,并大大减少了计算工作量,这在工程设计中具有重要应用价值。通过将耗时的串行计算转换为并行计算,可以将计算效率提高100倍以上。对于不同的点镜反射率和不同的光纤长度,本模型计算得到的输入输出功率曲线和功率分布曲线与常规模型以及实验数据很好地匹配。此外,通过本模型,可以分析得出点镜反射率与激光阈值之间的关系,并且还为提高RRFL的斜率效率提供了清晰的理论解释。最后,王子南教授介绍了该模型在电网传感等现实场景中的应用,并给出了未来工作的展望。

报告结束后,在场师生就本次报告的相关学术问题与王子南教授进行了深入交流和探讨。

Zinan Wang received the Ph.D. degree from the Beijing University of Posts and Telecommunications, China, in 2009. From 2007 to 2009, he was a visiting student with Alcatel-Lucent Bell Labs. He was a postdoctoral research associate with Cornell University from 2009 to 2010. He joined the University of Electronic Science and Technology of China in 2010, where he has been a Full Professor since 2015. His research interests include distributed fiber sensing and nonlinear fiber optics. He has published more than 150 papers in international journals and conference proceedings, and he is holding 20 Chinese patents and 5 U.S. patents. He has given more than 20 invited talks at academic conferences and served as a TPC member for a number of conferences. His research was highlighted in Optics in 2014 by OSA Optics and Photonics News. He is IEEE/OSA Senior Member, and a recipient of the IOP Publishing Top Cited Author Award (China) in 2018. He is an Associate Editor of the IEEE PHOTONICS TECHNOLOGY LETTERS and IEEE ACCESS.
