The team leader has received multiple national and provincial/ministerial-level awards and was honored as a National-level Distinguished Teacher. The team primarily conducts research on fundamental theories, cutting-edge technologies, and their real-time implementation in related fields. Research directions include: wireless communication systems, high-speed optical switching and optical information processing, intelligent detection and recognition of information features, intelligent information extraction and fusion, structuring and retrieval of visual big data, intelligent transportation and computer vision. The team has undertaken projects such as the NSFC, the "863" Pre-research Fund, provincial/ministerial industry-academia-research projects, as well as R&D projects with local enterprises, and has established a joint laboratory with Sichuan Zhizhou Technology. Fostering a strong academic atmosphere, the team has established excellent academic exchange and cooperation relationships with the University of Dublin (Ireland), the Institute of Information Engineering (CAS), the University of California, San Diego (USA), University of Electro-Communications of Japan, Hosei University of Japan, Shandong University, Southwest Jiaotong University, and other relevant domestic enterprises.
