Recently, the Institute of Scientific and Technical Information of China (ISTIC) officially released the 2025 World-Class Scientific and Technological Journals Directory, and Photonic Sensors, the international academic journal sponsored by the School of Information and Communication Engineering, was successfully included in the directory.

Since the Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS) discontinued its journal ranking system, this directory has drawn widespread attention from China's academic community as it fills that void. As the only international academic journal of the university's A+ discipline of Information and Communication Engineering,Photonic Sensors also covers two additional disciplines—Instrumentation Science and Technology, and Optical Engineering—making it of great significance in enhancing the academic influence of the university's three disciplines rated A or above in China's Discipline Evaluation: Information and Communication Engineering, Instrumentation Science and Technology, and Optical Engineering.
