1. General Information

TheSichuan Provincial Engineering Research Center for Intelligent Circuits and Systems of Unmanned Systems is led by the School of Information and Communication Engineering at the University of Electronic Science and Technology of China (UESTC) and jointly founded with Chengdu Jiuzhou Define Technology Co., Ltd. and Chengdu Spaceon Technology Co., Ltd. The center focuses on intelligent processing chip design technologies, intelligent communication and networking technologies and intelligent multi-dimensional information processing. Its mission is to advance engineering innovation across multiple layers—from fundamental circuits to full-stack systems, from software algorithms to hardware implementations, and from individual intelligence to collaborative swarm intelligence. Through breaking key technical bottlenecks, promoting technology transfer, and strengthening the industrial ecosystem, the center aims to establish a comprehensive technological framework for the research, development, and application of intelligent circuits and systems for unmanned platforms.

2. Research Directions

The center conducts research on intelligent circuits and systems for next-generation AI-enabled platforms, including intelligent unmanned aerial vehicles (UAV), intelligent robots, and smart IoT devices. The research directions include 1) Intelligent processing chip design. 2) Intelligent communication and networking technologies. 3) Intelligent multi-dimensional information processing technologies. The Circuit dimension focuses on edge-oriented intelligent processing chips, while the System dimension emphasizes intelligent communication and networking technologies on the edge side as well as multi-dimensional information processing on the cloud side. Through coordinated innovation across intelligent chips, algorithms and systems levels and integrated edge and cloud intelligence, the center aims to provide core hardware and software technologies for next generation unmanned and intelligent systems.

3. Research Achievements

[1]Developed a low-power visual detection and tracking AI chip with the research published at the 2023 IEEE International Solid-State Circuits Conference (ISSCC), a leading conference in integrated circuit (IC) design.

[2]Developed an ultra–low-power speech voice recognition AI chip, with the research published at the 2024 IEEE International Solid-State Circuits Conference (ISSCC), a leading conference in integrated circuit (IC) design.
